Danica Mae De Guzman Antazo graduated with a Bachelor of Music Major in Piano degree Cum  laude in 2017 from the University of the Philippines, College of Music under the tutelage of Prof. Pia Margarita D. Balasico.

 

Danica was a consistent university and college scholar. She was awarded the Regalado Jose Grant and was a scholar of the Friends of Cultural Concerns of the Philippines.

 

Danica has won in Piano competitions: 3rd place, Ensemble Competition of Piano Teacher's Guild of the Philippines (2013); 1st place, National Music Competition for Young Artists (2014); 3rd place, Etude ko Competition of the Piano Teacher's Guild of the Philippines (2015); 2nd place, Saliwan Piano Accompaniment Competition held at the UPCollege of Music (2015); 1st place, Piano Sonata/Sonatina competition of the Piano Teacher's Guild of the Philippines(2017) and recently 3rd place, National Music Competition for Young Artists  Senior Category and Best Interpretation of the Contest Piece "Within" composed by Prof. Josefino Toledo (2017).

 

Danica is an active participant in Piano festivals and was the featured soloist of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Prof. Herminigildo Ranera held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines last 2015.

She was a featured soloist of Steinway Boutique last 2016.

 

Danica participated in several local and international masterclasses and festivals - Music Fest Perugia in Italy wherein she had masterclasses with Prof. Christopher Elton, Prof. Benjamin Loh, Prof. Mikhail Pethukov, Prof. Pascal Nemirovski and Mr. Sasha Starcevich. She had masterclasses in Duren, Germany under Dozent Heribert Koch and in Vienna, Austria under Dr. Milan Franek.

 

Danica is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Piano Performance in Soochow  University under the distinguished Russian pedagogue, Dr. Angela Cholakian. She is also at the present time a scholarship grantee.

 

In December of 2018, she was chosen as  a featured soloist of the Soochow University Symphony Orchestra.

Danica won First Prize in the Soochow University Concerto Competition recently last December 2019.
